It’s that time of the year again where everything gets a layer of glazed happiness.
Sparkle and smile are the hashtags for a perfect holiday season. Yet, this overwhelming fever of all I want for christmas is you also makes me wonder about what I really really want. Perhaps it’s the relative opposite: a silence, unpredictable like a desert storm.
This golden oldie from Depeche Mode perfectly captures what I aim to embrace: satisfaction from silence. It was hard picking an all-time favourite from their sublime album Violator. Selecting airplane mode in life every now and then would be the healthy start for a new year.
